This is a profoundly beautiful depiction of Buddha at the exact moment of his Great Awakening beneath the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya.
The face is pure serenity: half-closed eyes gazing softly downward in perfect equanimity, the gentle “Ardhachandra” smile that hints at boundless compassion and the deepest understanding.
Each of the hundreds of tiny snail-shell curls (representing the 108 auspicious signs) is individually rendered in crisp high relief, catching light and shadow with every glance.
The elongated earlobes (symbol of renunciation and wisdom) are gracefully curved, and the raised “Ushnisha” protuberance on top of the head (mark of supreme enlightenment) is crowned with a subtle lotus-bud finial.
A delicate lotus blossom rests over the heart, its petals open in perfect symmetry, while the folds of his monastic robe cascade softly across the chest and shoulders with the weight and texture of real cloth frozen in iron.
Framing the entire portrait are sacred Bodhi leaves (pipal fig) drifting in gentle arcs, their central veins and serrated edges so finely carved you can almost feel the breeze that moved them on that fateful night 2,500 years ago.
Every detail is traditionally accurate: the third-eye dot (urna) between the brows, the proportions of the face following ancient canonical measurements, even the slight forward tilt of the head that conveys infinite gentleness.
Hang this plaque and the room stills and conversations soften.
It’s not just art; it’s a living transmission of peace.
Crafted from weatherproof, frost-resistant concrete and resin with an iron frame for stability and an exquisite hand-applied finish, it captures every detail.
